“I know the kind of guy you are.”
“You do? Please tell me, I can’t wait to hear this assessment.”
“You’re arrogant, pig headed, and you think a girl’s just going to fall to her knees if you take your shirt off…” To my credit I was still standing. “Speaking of which, why is your shirt off?”
He smirked. “Why do you think it’s off?  Since you’re the expert on guys like me apparently. I’m going to ignore the fall to their knees comment. You look cute when you blush, but it might push you over the edge.”
“I’m sure there’s a reason for it.” I crossed my arms, wishing I were in my own clothes and wishing he hadn’t made me think about falling to my knees around him. That just made me wonder if his lower half was as impressive as his top.
“There is. Maybe I’ll tell you about it sometime.”  As if he could read my thoughts, he adjusted the waist of his jeans.
“Not likely. Is there a reason you’re still here even though I told you Toby’s out?”
“Yes. He wasn’t in his office either. I need to find him.”
“I won’t be able to help you there.”
“But you might be able to help me in other ways?” He smirked again, and I had a feeling those kind of lines had worked for him before.
“Could you just leave?”
“I suppose I could. Is that what you want?”
I nodded.
“Maybe I’ll see you around again. I think I missed your name though.”
“You didn’t miss it. I never told you.”
“Oh. I see. I’m Jared.” He held out his hand like he wanted to shake. I resisted the urge to take it, to find out what his touch felt like.
“If you’re going to be that way.” He flashed me another smile before walking out the door. “See you around, sleep over girl.”

Cover Reveal: Beyond Fate by Heather Lyons

There are always two sides to every story . . .

His whole life, Jonah Whitecomb has strove to meet everyone’s expectations of him: the perfect student, dutiful son, loyal twin, accomplished surfer, and powerful Magical. But behind his carefully composed façade hides the truth of how his family has fallen apart, leaving Jonah more often than not feeling adrift. To complicate matters, he fell in love long ago with a girl in his dreams, one he’s never told anyone about, including his twin brother.

Just when life seems its bleakest, Jonah discovers that Chloe is real. Wanting to finally reach out and grab happiness for himself, he embarks on a journey to track down the girl of his dreams, only to find that happy endings aren’t always guaranteed, the best laid out plans can go horribly awry, and sometimes, you have to simply let yourself go along for the ride.

* Beyond Fate is Jonah’s point-of-view of the events of A Matter of Fate, and is a companion novella.

Through Glass by Rebecca Ethington Release Day!

ThroughGlass-BN-Kobo
Everyone remembered the day the sky went black. The day the sun was wiped from the sky. They remember the wind as it brought in the darkness; the way the earth shook and everything changed.

Everyone remembered the screams as the darkness ate those who were out in the open, those who had surrounded themselves by light, and those who made noise.

Everyone remembered the voice from the sky and the way food disappeared.

At least, that’s what I hoped. I hoped that there was an ‘everyone’ that would remember because I am not sure how many are left, how many survived. Or if anyone did.

I hoped that I wasn’t alone.

I remembered that day.

I remembered because it was the day I became alone.

It was the day that everything was perfect until the monsters took it away. Then the house went silent and the birds stopped singing. It was the day when everyone disappeared, everyone except the boy, the only person I have seen in two years. The boy I talk to through the glass.

Writing Humor

I've spent the majority of the past few months writing books with humor. I started having some fun with it in The Crescent Chronicles and The Hazards of Skinny Dipping, and it's only continued. Between working on Soar, a follow up to Hazards (more details on that are coming later), and the first book in a completely new contemporary romance/ romantic comedy series, it's been non stop, and I love it.

Humor and romance go so well together. It's like chocolate covered strawberries. The humor makes the romance that much better. I've always been a fan of romantic comedy movies as well as funny chic lit, so I'm having a blast instilling humor into my romance story lines. I can't wait to share all of these new stories with you guys, and I hope they leave you laughing and smiling.

Blaire Hayes enjoys a quiet life, spending her days as a CNA at the local nursing home and nights studying for exams. She prefers things to be as uncomplicated as possible—but
when her friends drag her to a party and she bumps into her high school crush, the path of Blaire’s life veers in an entirely different direction than what she had planned for herself.

Jason Bryant created a nice life away from his hometown, putting distance between himself and the suffocating sadness of his father’s death. But when he finds out his grandfather’s health is deteriorating, he decides he must return home. Partying was not on his agenda while in town, but it’s how he bumps into Blaire Hayes—the girl he’d always thought of in high school as an unobtainable pass.

Together the two learn there are moments in life that hold within them all the power to break you...

Jennifer Snyder lives in North Carolina were she spends most of her time writing New Adult and Young Adult Fiction, reading, and struggling to stay on top of housework. She is a tea lover with an obsession for Post-it notes and smooth writing pens. Jennifer lives with her husband and two children, who endure listening to songs that spur inspiration on repeat and tolerate her love for all paranormal, teenage-targeted TV shows.

Soar (The Empire Chronicles #1) Cover Reveal!

Hey everyone,

Today I'm very excited to share the cover and description of Soar, the first book in the Empire Chronicles. This cover was designed by Phatpuppy Art and features the photography of K.Keeton and Stuart Monk.

Soar will releasing on November 19th! I can't wait to share this new Pteron series with all of you!
In the city that never sleeps the Chronicles continue…

Serving coffee is temporary, just like Casey's year off from school. She’s going to come up with a plan to stay in New York City and go back to college, and that plan does not involve dating a paranormal creature—let alone two.

Running the supernatural society of New York is not as fun as it sounds, especially when you still have to answer to your ex-girlfriend’s fiancé. Toby doesn’t mean to bring Casey into the chaos of his life, but he can't resist the girl who makes him smile when he thought no one else ever could.

Jared's in New York checking out a security risk for his best friend, the king. He plans to return to New Orleans quickly, but not if it means losing his chance with the brunette who pretends she wants nothing to do with him.

In over her head with a bunch of winged creatures who most definitely are not angels, Casey has to figure out who to trust with her life and maybe her heart.
